random reveries

Filed under: The Daily Grind — forbes @ 13:08

This morning right before I left for work, I looked out on my balcony and saw two Starlings sitting on the rail. They flew off as I came closer to the window, but it’s the first time I’ve seen birds on my balcony.

My computer at work had (has?) a virus on it. I think I fixed it, but how stupid is that.

I have a great idea for a store. An Umbrellaorium, home to umbrellas, ties, walking sticks, hankerchiefs, pocket watches, hats like fedoras, homburgs, trilbys and bowlers, driving gloves, socks, monocles and the ilk. All the essential acessories of a well-fitted gentleman.

I came home from curling last night and the front door of my building was missing. It was sitting in the lobby when I left for work this morning. There’s still like the security door thing, but still, my apartment building is missing a front door.

I curled last night (as mentioned above) and did pretty well. Not satisfied with it all and quite a bit of aches and pains this morning. Had a hard time focusing on the game. New broom needs some getting used to. Looking forward to doing it all again.

There’s a one legged seagull that hangs out on the roof beside my office window. A lot of seagulls hang out there, it’s like a social club for them, but this guy has one leg which makes him special. I’ve named him Edgar. He has a stump and he hops around a lot.

I haven’t written about the Buffalo trip yet. It was a lot of fun, and I’ll write more at a later time. I’m still tired from it. “Sleep is like a bank account that you put capital in when you are young and draw on as you get older; and then you run out of capital and die.”

every knock is a boost

If I could back out now, I probably would.

There. I said it. Now onwards with the trip.

So I had this great big post planned on a discussion Chris and I had about some guy back home and his quasi-journalism/quasi-webdesign gig. But it’s really not worth the effort.

Steve Murphy is my hero. Tomorrow, he’ll be in Shelburne for the news and he’ll also be signing copies of his book. I wish I was going to be there.

I keep thinking I should participate in National Novel Writing Month. Maybe next year. It is already the 1st. er..crap

More swarmings in the city. Is it safe? Why aren’t we asking the question?
